Panda DVD

Yep, I was schmoozed by this company. The DVD on the left arrived from Thailand so we all know what that means- Jesse is stuck with this purchase! Ah, well. I meant it as a gift for my young sister and as we all know little children do not take too kindly to things being ‘different’. I was most certain the Chinese characters on the front would catch her eye and tell her something was amiss. So alas, my children have acquired themselves a copy of the The Lion King.

After more than a week past by of no response back for Panda DVD with my request to send it back and have my money refunded I figured we should open it up and see if it really was in English. Sure enough, after a few options of Chinese or English and then Chinese subtitles (automatically put them up, but we just switched subtitles to ‘none’ and we were good to go) the movie played as it normally would have. Granted there was an option to preview things on Disc Two from the menu and there was no disk two. (*Sigh*)

So I have learned my lesson, purchased another copy to send from within the U.S. (the one on the right) and am only going to be a little over 3 weeks late with getting Rita Claire her birthday gift! Poor Rita. She has most certainly come to expect that gifts from me will be late – something for which I am not proud of. (Christmas gifts didn't get to her until February this year, same as last!)

Aren't you glad that family loves you unconditionally (most of the time) and that little kids’ long term memories aren't really that long? :) Yeah, me too.

I'm always late too. I was thinking of sending out my Christmas letter in July! :) I haven't gotten around to it since our new addition arrived.

My sister is always early - very early. We don't exchange birthday gifts anymore, but when we did, those from her would arrive three weeks early, and the kids would open them right away. It was too hard to put them away after they'd seen the package.

Late is good. Kind of extends the blessings.

Too bad we didn't catch your post earlier. We recently purchased a couple DVDs from the same company for our 3 yr old and were suprised to hear shipping was international. We were even more suprised to see all the foreign characters on the DVD cover. As you say...lesson learned...

I wish I would have saw this post before I ordered Lion King 2 Simba's Pride. I received my order today and this movie has chinese writing on it. I guess I won't hear anything back either. Thanks for sharing this experience.

Thanks, I was going to buy a DVD from this company but I'm rethinking it now. By the way, that's Japanese writing in the picture, not Chinese.

Am very sorry I didn't see this blog before I ordered from this company also. Received 4 of 8 items I ordered and have had no response to any of my 4 emails to them. Paypal lodged a dispute on the seller records for me, but advised there was no protection due to the fact I had purchased as a one off transaction. I suppose you live and learn.

I was exactly the same I ordered 7 dvds and only recieved 6 but had paid for all 7. I have also sent 4 emails through to them with no reply back. I think they are just theiving chickens. I have now put a dispute through with paypal as well as with my bank as they should not be allowed to do this to people, so why does this company have two email addresses I went through DINGO DVDS website but my payment was made to a PANDA DVDS website.

I had the same issue. I went through outback dvds, but they appear to be the same as Panda. Ordered Toy Story movies. Toy Story 1 came and appears to be a transfer from VHS. Toy Story 2 plays ok, but the cover art is all in chinese, or something like it.

Glad I used paypal, so they don't have any credit card info. Opening a dispute with them now!

Lucky I did a search for this website after I couldn't find Wolverine Origins on there. or any other X-men movie. Thanks for posting this and thanks for the heads up.

ha ha! Looks like I'm late to the party! I was thinking about ordering Lion King from Panda! I won't!! Thanks everyone for your help! Jess - I'm so glad you love the Lord! And are working hard at homeschooling. I'll ask our church to pray for you. I'm a pastor in Michigan. - Jeff

Whew!!! Thank you for saving me the trouble. I was just about to order, but something just wasn't right. I could just feel it. The screen kept acting up and wouldn't let me go through with it. I thought something was funny when it asked for my "post code". I googled that only to realize that it's terminology used by people out of the country. Thank you, thank you, thank you again!!!

Too bad I did not see posts like these before ordering Lost Season 5 from Outback. The menus are not readable (I don't even know the language) and it does not contain the DVD extras that were promised. I did receive an email back from the owner, defending the DVD. I just lodged a complaint with Paypal, hopefully that will get me somewhere.

Wish I had seen this before I ordered Toy Story 1 and 2 from them. Have not received them yet; but now know what to expect when they do arrive.

Looks like I got taken by this company also, should have known the price was to good to believe. I have ordered 4 DVDs from this company and just received an email that they have been shipped but I know now what to expect:( gonna be sad for my 3 year old boys Christmas. Someone should be able to stop this company from this.I will also complain to paypal maybe that will be a start.

I was fortunate it seems to have received all four DVDs I ordered, but I have only tried to play one and it skips all throughout the movie.

I wish I had seen this posting before I had ordered Toy Story 1 as well. I had a bad feeling when I saw the package came from Thailand. I had ordered it as a Christmas gift as well, and was extremely disappointed. The cover on the DVD package was a give away it was a copy. I hope pay-pal will do something about the company PANDA DVDs as well; if the company has so many complaints against them. This is just another reason why going directly into a store and purchasing items is better. And another reason for why I feel to much technology can be a bad thing. I have learned my lesson!

I too wish that I had done a little research before I ordered Toy Story from Panda for my grandson. The DVD cracked in their DVD player, and now they are out the DVD and the DVD player!! Have sent 2 e-mails, with no response. Have filed a complaint with PayPal, but that is as far as that went!!

I have unfortunately been stung by the same bee. I purchased two DVDs only to find that they do not work at all. I get an error saying "disk dirty cannot play" so I have tried to contact them but of course without a response. There has to be someway to shut these guys down. They can't possibly get away with ripping so many of us off.

What a shame I too did not see that blog before I ordered 2 Disney videos from Panda DVD.co.uk. They obviously have a well set up business here. I have today also filed a complaint with PayPal who are supposed to email me with how to get a refund from those guys. Of course not having an address or a telephone number to contact them should have been a warning sign! So lets hope that PayPal will come good and sort this out. They really ought to close they account as if they cannot get paid with credit cards they will have no business.
